    Gava Mkononi is an online platform that allows Kenyan citizens and businesses to access over 5,000 government services. Equity Bank has made these services more accessible by enabling seamless eCitizen payments through its platforms, making online payments more convenient and efficient in today’s digital age.

    Equity Bank, a leading financial institution, has brought these services closer to you by enabling seamless eCitizen payments through its platforms. In this article, we will walk you through how eCitizen payments work with Equity.

    Equity Bank offers several payment options for eCitizen payments, including Equity USSD (*247#), Equity Mobile App/Online, Equitel, Equity EazzyBizz (Corporates and SMEs), Equity Agent and Equity Branch. Each option has its own set of steps to follow in order to complete the payment.

    Payment Options

    The following are Equity payment options.

    For Equity USSD (*247#)

    For Equity Mobile App/Online

    For Equity EazzyBizz (Corporates and SMEs)

    EazzyBiz (Maker):
    Log in to your EazzyBiz Portal.
    Select Payments > Data Maintenance > Payee > Service Provider > eCitizen.
    Enter the eCitizen reference number and other required information.
    Submit the payment request for approval.

    EazzyBiz (Approver):

    Log in to your EazzyBiz Portal (Approver).
    Select Payments > Pending Activities > Payee > Authorize.
    Input the token number and authorize the transaction to release it.

    For Equity Agent

    Present Reference Number
    Present Cash
    The agent will process the transaction
    Receipt issued

    For Equity Branch

    Present Reference Number
    Present Cash
    The teller will process the transaction
    Receipt issued

    It is important to note that the Equity online services are available 24/7, allowing you to process eCitizen payments anytime and from anywhere. When making an online payment, you will be charged KES 36/=. To provide evidence of payment, you will receive an SMS and email notification. Additionally, you can generate a receipt after completing the payment online.

    Remember that after making the payment using the online channels, you still need to complete the transaction on the eCitizen portal. This ensures that the entire process is successfully finalized. If you are paying for a visa, it is worth noting that foreign currency, specifically USD, is accepted.
